The aim of these courses is that you can start learning or improving your knowledge in Spanish to help you getting on both in your academic and personal life during your stay here at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). We want you to make the most of the time you will be here and, for that, we offer you face-to-face and online Spanish courses that include some activities outside the classroom that we hope you enjoy. Choose the course that fits best your needs!

Schedule:
Face-to-face courses: Mondays and Wednesdays from 13:30 to 15:30 hours.
Online courses (places limited to 30 per group and level): Mondays and Wednesdays from 16:30 to 18:30 hours.
Fees:
Exchange program students administered by the Vice-Rectorate of Basque, Culture and Internationalization and ENLIGHT European University students: Free of charge.
Other students: 180 euros
Available levels:
- Beginners: zero to A1
- Intermediate: A2-B1
- Advanced: B1-B2
Illustrative levels according to the European Framework of References for Languages (EFRL).
Besides completing the specificregistration of the course (checkrequirements below), students must take the online level test or inform the office of theirlevel of Spanish within the deadline stated to do so (check calendar). Students that do not know Spanish and prefer to be set directly in the beginners´ level group, just have to send an e-mail to cursosidiomas@ehu.eus within the deadline stated to do so and will be set directly in a beginners´ level group.
Thelevel test will be held online and will be used to determine the most suitable group/level for each student.
Important: students are not allowed to enter in any class if they have not received a confirmation e-mail from the organizers. Students entering in class without being authorized, will accumulate absences/missing days that might affect the way they will be evaluated.
Places of the online course will beassigned strictly by order of registration. Students of exchange programs administered by the Vice-Rectorate of Basque,Culture and Internationalization and Enlight university studentswill have priority/preference to other students.
We remind students taking part in the online courses that it is absolutely forbidden to pass or exchange the links of the classes to other students without the express consent of the language courses office, being this a possible cause of expulsion of the students involved.
We recommend students to read the regulations before fulfilling their registration in our courses.

Spanish Spring course calendar (face-to-face and online)
Official beginning date of the course (classes): 22 January
Closure of admission (online registration form): 6 February at 23:59 hours
Last day to take the online level test or proof the level of Spanish to the language courses Office: 7 February
Deadline to enter in class (through indication of level): 12 February
Deadline to provide all documents needed to complete the registration in the course, if needed(payment students or online students - check documents needed below): 16 February
Deadline to ask forchanges oflevel/group: 16 February
Students enteringin classafter the official beginning date of the course (22 January), will have to update on their own of the topics already given in class.
The request of a change of level or group must mandatory be made via e-mail to the following address: cursosidiomas@ehu.eus Changes that do not come through this means will not be allowed, even if they have the teachers´ approval. If a change of level takes place without being authorised by the courses office, the students involved will be discharged from the courses.
Only students that have completed their registration (see requirements below)and taken thelevel test or inform the secretary of the courses about their level of Spanishwithin the deadline stated to do so, will be allowed to take part in this course.

Students that have not completed their online registration in GAUR, will have to provide a documentstating their admission as exchange studentsin the UPV/EHU including the dates of stay.
Enlight university students (not coming to the UPV/EHUin person), besides filling the online registration form, will have to provide a copy of their 2023-2024 academic year course´sregistration at their home university in English.
Thesestudents can follow the Spanish course free of charge. In case of doubt, and before proceeding to any payment, please do send us an e-mail to cursosidiomas@ehu.eus
International students registered in different postgraduate studies, visiting researchers and/or teaching staff:
- Online registration form > Admission closed
- Document stating being admitted in the UPV/EHU as a student, visiting teacher or researcher including dates of stay.
- Copy of the bank transfer for the amount of the corresponding registration fee: 180 euros.

Exchange program students administered by the Vice-Rectorate of Basque, Culture and Internationalization and Enlight university studentswill have preference taking part in these courses. The secretary of the courses reserves the right to admit other program students within the university community to the existance of places in the different groups/levels.
We remind you that the deadline to provide all documents to complete the registration in these courses (if anything is needed besides the online registration form), will be February 16.
Students not correctly registered and, therefore, not appearing in the official lists of the teachers; will not be allowed in class, nor receive any credits or grades for this course.

Level test:
Students registered in this course within the deadline stated to do so will receive an e-mail with all the information and instructions to take the online level test. The online level test must be completed before 7 February.
In order to take the test, students must have a Gmail address.
The registration of students not taking the level test or informing us about their level within the deadline (7 February) will be cancelled.
We kindly ask students to pay attention to their e-mail, including the spam folder, just in case our e-mails arrive there.
