Today we’re sharing how to make this groundhog headband craft complete with a free printable template to make this project even easier for you and the kids to create together. It’s a fun and simple Groundhog’s Day project for the kids!
This activity is great to create as a class at school or even as a fun mommy and me project at the craft table.
Of course, you don’t have to wait until Groundhog’s day for this fun project because it fits perfectly with all our other headband crafts for kids.

Groundhog’s Day Craft For Kids

Supplies
- Cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Crayons or markers (if using the color in version)
- Groundhog template (click the “click here to get this freebie” image at the end to open the form)
Directions
Download the groundhog template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
Begin by gluing the eyes at a slight angle, right on top of the nose.
Next, glue the inner ears to the outer ears on both sides.
Glue the teeth just below the smile line.
Finish off the base of the headband by gluing the grass to the bottom of the groundhog.
Tape or staple one headband extender on each side to fit your child’s head, and you’re done!
